Senate Bill 609, which was passed by the General Assembly and
signed by me on May 17, 1988, accomplishes the same purpose.
Therefore, it is not necessary for me to sign House Bill 919.

AN ACT concerning

Juror Selection - Qualification and Summoning

FOR the purpose of providing that a court may use a certain
procedure to qualify and summons prospective jurors;
requiring a certain notice to be sent to prospective jurors
under certain circumstances; and generally relating to juror
selection procedures.

BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

Section 8-206 and 8-208

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1984 Replacement Volume and 1987 Supplement)

BY adding to

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

Section 8-208.1

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1984 Replacement Volume and 1987 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

8-206.

(a) The clerk or jury commissioner, or the Administrative
Office of the Courts, as appropriate, shall mail to every person
whose name is drawn from the master wheel under § 8-205 or from
the source list under § 8-202(b)(l), a juror qualification form,
with instructions to fill out, sign, certify, and return it by
mail, within ten days.
