SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section(s) 12-104 of Article - Family Law of the
Annotated Code of Maryland be renumbered to be Section(s) 12-105.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

12-104.

(A)  THE COURT MAY MODIFY A DECREE CONCERNING CHILD SUPPORT
FOR PAYMENTS CHILD SUPPORT AWARD SUBSEQUENT TO THE FILING OF A
PETITION MOTION FOR MODIFICATION AND UPON A SHOWING OF A MATERIAL
CHANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCE.

(B)  THE COURT MAY NOT RETROACTIVELY MODIFY A DECREE
CONCERNING CHILD SUPPORT AWARD PRIOR TO THE DATE OF THE FILING OF
THE PETITION MOTION FOR MODIFICATION.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.
