Ch. 758                                          LAWS OF MARYLAND

The Administration shall specify:

(1)  Accepted medical procedures and tests to be used
to do the medical examinations required under this subtitle; and

(2)  The facilities at which the medical examinations
are to be done.

Part II. Petitions by Individuals Not
Charged or Convicted of Crime.

[9-611.] 8-611.

An individual may not be committed under Part II of this
subtitle if the individual:

(1) Already is committed to the Administration under
court order;

(2) Is charged with a crime; or

(3) Is confined in a correctional institution.
[9-612.] 8-612.

(a) An individual who believes himself or herself to be a
drug abuser may file a petition to be committed to the
Administration, as provided in Part II of this subtitle.

(b) A petition under this section may be filed with the
district court in or circuit court for the county where the
individual resides or otherwise may be found.

(c) A petition under this section shall:

(1) Be signed and verified by the petitioner;

(2) State the petitioner's:

(i) Name;

(ii) Address;

(iii) Telephone number, if any;

(iv) Birth date;

(v) Birth place;

(vi) Age;
