AN ACT concerning
Addictions Services
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration -
Consolidation
FOR the purpose of repealing the provisions relating to the
Alcoholism Control Administration and the Drug Abuse
Administration, including matters relating to advisory
councils, plans, programs and facilities, disposition and
treatment, commitments and penalties; establishing the
Addictions Services Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration to
revise, restate, and recodify the laws of the State relating
and pertaining to general alcohol and drug abuse matters,
including matters relating to an advisory council, plans,
programs and facilities, disposition and treatment,
admissions, commitments and penalties; defining certain
terms; providing for the term of office of certain members
of certain councils to end; providing for the effect of
this Act on any change in nomenclature; providing for the
continuation and renewal of certain certifications under
this Act; providing for the transfer of employees and assets
and liabilities of the Alcoholism Control Administration and
Drug Abuse Administration to the Addictions Services Alcohol
and Drug Abuse Administration; providing for an orderly
transition of responsibilities from the Alcoholism Control
Administration and the Drug Abuse Administration to the
Addictions Services Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration;
providing for the severability of this Act; and generally
relating to the establishment of the Addictions Services
Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration.
BY repealing
Article - Health - General
Section 8-101 through 8-601, inclusive, and the title "Title
8. Misuse of Alcohol"; and 9-101 through 9-1001, and
the title, "Title 9. Misuse of Drugs", inclusive
Annotated Code of Maryland

BY adding to
Article - Health - General
Section 8-101 through 8-901, inclusive, to be under the new
title "Title 8. Addictions Services"
