SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the Laws of
Maryland read as follows:

(N) THE SUBTRACTION UNDER SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION
INCLUDES A PAYMENT RECEIVED BY UNDER A FIRE, RESCUE, OR AMBULANCE
PERSONNEL FROM LENGTH OF SERVICE AWARD PROGRAMS PROGRAM THAT IS
FUNDED BY ANY COUNTY OR MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE.
SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect January 1, 1989 and shall be applicable to all
taxable years beginning after December 31, 1987.

AN ACT concerning
Prisoners - Medical Expenses
FOR the purpose of requiring the State to reimburse counties and
Baltimore City for certain medical expenses of prisoners
confined to local detention facilities; requiring the
exclusion of certain reimbursements of medical expenses of
prisoners under this Act from certain costs used to
determine certain other reimbursements; making certain
prisoners confined to local detention facilities eligible
for certain State funded medical assistance benefits;
repealing a provision providing for federally funded
Medicaid benefits for certain inmates of public
institutions; and generally relating to reimbursement for
medical expenses of prisoners.
BY repealing and reenacting, without amendments,
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That, subject to the
approval of the Director of the Department of Legislative
Reference, the publishers of the Annotated Code of Maryland shall
propose the correction of cross-references that are rendered
incorrect by this Act.
