Ch. 742                                          LAWS OF MARYLAND

(c)  A provisional driver's license is subject to the
expiration and renewal requirements of § 16-115 of this subtitle.

(d)  Upon meeting the requirements set forth in §
16-111.2(b) of this subtitle, or upon attaining the age of 18,
the holder of a provisional driver's license shall be issued a
driver's license as provided in § 16-111 of this subtitle.

(e)  The driver's license shall be issued [without] ON
payment of [an additional] A $2 fee and shall expire [on the same
date of expiration shown on the provisional driver's license
being surrendered] 60 DAYS AFTER THE LICENSEE'S 21ST BIRTHDAY.

16-115.

(a) (1) A license issued under this title [expires] TO A
DRIVER AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD SHALL EXPIRE on the birth date of
the licensee in the fourth year following the issuance of the

license.

(2)  A LICENSE ISSUED UNDER THIS TITLE TO A DRIVER
UNDER THE AGE OF 21 YEARS SHALL EXPIRE 60 DAYS AFTER THE DRIVER'S
21ST BIRTHDAY.

(3)  A license is renewable any time within 60 days
before its expiration, on the presentation in person of an
application, the payment of the renewal fee required by §
16-111.1 of this subtitle, and satisfactory completion of the
examination required or authorized by subsection (h) of this
section.

(I) A DRIVER'S LICENSE ISSUED BEFORE JULY 1, 1988 TO A
DRIVER UNDER THE AGE OF 21 YEARS THAT EXPIRES BEFORE THE DRIVER'S
21ST BIRTHDAY, MAY BE RENEWED, ON PAYMENT OF A $2 FEE, FOR A
PERIOD NOT TO EXCEED 60 DAYS AFTER THE LICENSEE'S 21ST BIRTHDAY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.
