AN ACT concerning
CHAPTER 724

Hunting - Hunting Licenses
FOR the purpose of providing for a consolidated hunting license
system in the State for certain purposes; creating a senior
lifetime hunting license for certain persons; altering the
fees for certain hunting licenses and individual hunting
stamps; providing for the use of certain funds collected
under this Act; authorizing the Department of Natural
Resources to enter into certain contracts to reimburse
certain persons for providing certain grains, grasses, and
legumes to feed certain birds and mammals in the State;
providing for a delayed effective date for certain
provisions of this Act; altering the schedule of fees that
certain persons retain for the sale and issuance of certain
hunting licenses; providing for the affixing of certain
hunting stamps in a certain manner; allowing certain persons
to purchase a second deer permit stamp to hunt a certain
additional number of deer during certain hunting seasons;
providing for a certain fee for the second deer permit
stamp; requiring the Department to compile certain
statistics under certain circumstances; making technical and
stylistic changes; authorizing the Department to limit by
regulation the number and type of deer stamps issued in
certain circumstances; and generally relating to the
establishment and administration of the hunting license
system in Maryland.

Preamble
WHEREAS, During the 1987 Legislative Interim, the Hunting
Licenses Workgroup of the Environmental Matters Committee was
charged with restructuring and simplifying the present hunting
license system in Maryland; and
WHEREAS, The specific goals of the Hunting License Workgroup
were to:
(1) Eliminate the proliferation of hunting stamps in
order to simplify the system for hunters and licensing agents;
