(ii) Any civilian employee of the Maryland
State Police assigned to enforce any rule or regulation adopted
under this section, but only while acting under written
authorization of the Superintendent of the Maryland State Police.
(4) "Public Service Commission Inspector" means a
person who is assigned by the Public Service Commission and
certified by the Maryland State Police to perform an inspection
authorized under this section.
(b) (1) A police officer may require the driver of any
vehicle that is subject to any rule or regulation adopted under
this section to stop and submit to an inspection:
(i) All applicable driver records, including
driver's license, driver hours of service record and certificate
of physical examination; and
(ii) All load manifests, including bills of
lading or other shipping documents; and
(iii) All cargo and cargo areas; and
(2) A police officer who is certified by the Maryland
State Police to perform an inspection authorized under this
section [or], a Public Service Commission inspector, OR A
HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INSPECTOR, may conduct a safety inspection of
the vehicle that is subject to a rule or regulation adopted under
this section or § 22-409 of this article.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.

AN ACT concerning
Oyster Shells - Returning to Chesapeake Bay or Tributaries
FOR the purpose of requiring a commercial oyster packer licensed
oyster dealer to reserve for a certain period of time
certain oyster shells for the Department of Natural
Resources for certain purposes; providing certain exceptions
to this Act; requiring the Department to make certain
determinations as to the availability of certain funds and
