SECTION 7. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section 2 of this
Act shall take effect October 1, 1988 and the amendments, in
Section 1 of this Act, to § ll-103(g)(1)(x) of the State Finance
and Procurement Article are abrogated, so that § 11-103(g)(1)(x)
of the State Finance and Procurement Article is repealed in

accordance with Chapter (H.B. 1) of the Acts of the General

Assembly of 1988.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 101 - Workmen's Compensation

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 101 - Workmen's Compensation

36.

Each employee (or in the case of death [his] THE EMPLOYEE'S
family or dependents) entitled to receive compensation under this
article shall receive the same in accordance with the following
schedule and except as in this article otherwise provided, such
payment shall be in lieu of any and all rights of action
whatsoever against any person whomsoever.

FOR the purpose of clarifying certain provisions of the workers'
compensation law relating to vocational rehabilitation;
increasing the maximum weekly maintenance allowance for
certain employees under certain circumstances; substituting
the term "vocational rehabilitation services" for the term
"vocational rehabilitation"; defining certain terms;
increasing the period of time in which certain persons can
request a hearing on certain issues; making technical
changes; and generally relating to the workers' compensation
law relating to vocational rehabilitation.
