SECTION 2. SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this
Act shall take effect July 1, 1988. It shall remain effective
for a period of two years and, at the end of June 30, 1990, and
with no further action required by the General Assembly, this Act
shall be abrogated and of no further force and effect.

AN ACT concerning

Civil Liability - Farmers - Gleaning of Fields

FOR the purpose of limiting the personal liability of a farmer
for damages in civil action brought against the farmer by a
charitable organization that gleans the farmers' fields;
establishing certain exceptions; defining certain terms; and
generally relating to the limitation of farmer's liability
to persons who glean on the property of a farmer.

(A) (1) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.

(2) "AGENT OF A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION" MEANS A
PERSON WHO:

(I)  IS OR WAS A DIRECTOR, OFFICER, OR EMPLOYEE
OF A CHARITABLE ORGANIZATION; OR

(II)  ON A VOLUNTEER BASIS, IS OR WAS PROVIDING
SERVICES OR PERFORMING DUTIES ON BEHALF OF A CHARITABLE
ORGANIZATION.
