WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 648

(3)  PAYS ANY RECIPROCAL LICENSE FEE REQUIRED UNDER
THIS TITLE;

(4)  IF REQUIRED, SUBMITS PROOF OF GENERAL LIABILITY
INSURANCE TO THE STATE BOARD; AND

(5)  COMPLIES WITH ANY OTHER LICENSING REQUIREMENTS OF
THE STATE BOARD.

COMMITTEE COMMENT: This section is new language derived
from former Art. 56, § 321(b) and (d) and the first,
fourth, and fifth sentences of (a) and § 322, as they
related to reciprocal licenses issued by the State
Board.

Throughout this section, the references to a "local
jurisdiction" are substituted for the former
references to "electrical board{s}", to reflect
licensure by a local entity other than a local
electrical board.

In subsection (a) of this section, the defined term
"reciprocal license" is substituted for the former
references to a "reciprocal electrical license", for
clarity.

The second sentence of former Art. 56, § 321(b), which
granted immediate reciprocity to all local license
holders if application was made on or before July 1,
1976, is deleted as obsolete. Any license holder who
was waived into a local jurisdiction under the former
sentence and later failed to renew the license from
that local jurisdiction would not be relicensed in
that jurisdiction by reciprocity. The third sentence
of former Art. 56, § 321(a) — now § 2-505(b) of this
subtitle — prohibited reinstatement.

Similarly, former Art. 56, § 321(c), which limited the
application of the reciprocity provisions of former
Art. 56, §§ 320 through 322 to an applicant from a
nonlicensed jurisdiction who had an established
electrical business in that jurisdiction for 7 years
and had made application for a reciprocal license from
another jurisdiction on or before October 1, 1976, is
deleted as obsolete. As enacted, the former
subsection had limited applicability, since there were
only 4 counties that did not require a license to
provide electrical service. Currently, Garrett and
Somerset Counties do not require licensure.

As to the waiver of the examination requirements under
this title for a master electrician who holds a local
license, see § 2-307 of this title.
