Ch. 648

OWN IF ALLEGANY COUNTY DOES NOT REQUIRE A LOCAL LICENSE, THE
STATE LICENSE, WHILE THE STATE LICENSE IS EFFECTIVE IN EFFECT,
AUTHORIZES THE LICENSEE TO:

(I)  PROVIDE ELECTRICAL SERVICES AS A MASTER
ELECTRICIAN; OR

(II)  BE THE REPRESENTATIVE OF ANOTHER PERSON
WHO ENGAGES IN THE BUSINESS OF PROVIDING ELECTRICAL SERVICES.

COMMITTEE COMMENT: Subsection (a) of this section, is new
language added to state expressly that which only was
implied in the former law — i.e., this title
establishes a mechanism for obtaining a local license
that is an alternative to the system of reciprocity
established under former Art. 56, §§ 320 through 322
— now Subtitle 5 of this title.

Subsection (b) of this section is new language added
to state expressly that which only was implied in the
former law — i.e., this title establishes a
regulatory scheme for Allegany County, which
participates in the State scheme and does not issue a
local license.

As to the mechanism by which a licensed master
electrician acts as the representative of another
person who engages in the business of providing
electrical services, see §§ 2-401 and 2-402 of this
title.

2-303. LICENSE EXCEPTION.

(A) PROVISION OF SERVICES BY EMPLOYEES AND SUBORDINATES;
RESPONSIBILITY OF LICENSEE.

THIS SUBTITLE DOES NOT REQUIRE AN INDIVIDUAL TO HOLD A STATE
LICENSE WHILE THE INDIVIDUAL PROVIDES ELECTRICAL SERVICES AS AN
EMPLOYEE OR SUBORDINATE OF A MASTER ELECTRICIAN LICENSED BY THE
STATE BOARD IF:

(1) THE INDIVIDUAL PROVIDES ELECTRICAL SERVICES WHILE
UNDER THE CONTROL AND SUPERVISION OF THE LICENSEE; AND
