COMMITTEE COMMENT: This subsection is new language added to
avoid repetition of phrases such as "license to
provide electrical services".

The reference to issuance "by the State Board or a
local jurisdiction" is added for clarity.

Defined terms: "Provide electrical services" § 2-101
"State Board" § 2-101

(E)  LICENSED MASTER ELECTRICIAN.

"LICENSED MASTER ELECTRICIAN" MEANS, UNLESS THE CONTEXT
REQUIRES OTHERWISE, A MASTER ELECTRICIAN WHO IS LICENSED BY THE
STATE BOARD OR A LOCAL JURISDICTION TO PROVIDE ELECTRICAL
SERVICES.

COMMITTEE COMMENT: This subsection is new language
substituted for former Art. 56, § 531(b), which
defined the term "master electrical license" by
reference to the substantive requirements for
licensure as a master electrician. These substantive
requirements are covered elsewhere in this title.

Occasionally, the term "licensee" is used in this
title as a synonym for "licensed master electrician".
Since "license" is defined in subsection (c) of this
section, "licensee" need not be defined separately.

(F)  LOCAL BOARD.

"LOCAL BOARD" MEANS A BOARD THAT A LOCAL JURISDICTION OF THE
STATE CREATES TO REGULATE ANY ASPECT OF THE ELECTRICAL TRADE.

COMMITTEE COMMENT: This subsection is new language

substituted for former Art. 56, § 531(g), which

defined a "{l}ocal board" as any "electrical board

lawfully constituted....."

The reference to regulation of "any aspect of the
electrical trade" is based on the word "electrical",
which formerly modified the word "board".
