THE BOARD SHALL RENEW THE LICENSE OF AND ISSUE A RENEWAL
CERTIFICATE TO EACH LICENSEE WHO MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS
SECTION.
COMMITTEE COMMENT: Subsections (a) and (c)(2) of this
section are new language derived from the second
clause of the first sentence of former Art. 56, § 450
and the second clause of the first sentence and the
reference to a biennial renewal fee for apprentice
plumbers in the second sentence of § 453(b).
Subsection (b) of this section is new language added
to conform to current Board practice and to similar
provisions governing other State regulated business
occupations.
Subsection (c)(1) of this section is standard language
added for clarity.
Subsection (c)(3)(i) of this section is new language
added to conform to the insurance requirements of
former Art. 56, § 462C — now § 3-501 of this title.
Subsection (c)(3)(ii) of this section is standard
language added to state expressly that which only was
implied in the former law — i.e., renewal application
may be made only on the form provided by the Board.
Subsection (d) of this section is standard language
added to express the formerly implied duty of the
Board to renew the license of a qualified applicant.
In subsection (a) of this section, the defined term
"license" is substituted for the former specific
references to a "certificate of competency", which
referred to master plumbers, and "certificates" for
journey plumbers, to clarify the expiration date of an
apprentice plumber license.

3-309. REINSTATEMENT OF EXPIRED LICENSE.
(A) EXPIRED FOR 4 YEARS OR LESS.
THE BOARD SHALL REINSTATE THE LICENSE OF AN INDIVIDUAL WHO
HAS FAILED TO RENEW THE LICENSE FOR ANY REASON IF THE INDIVIDUAL:
