AN ACT concerning

Community Mental Health Programs - Contracts

FOR the purpose of specifying that the Secretary may contract
with private community-based organizations to provide
certain local mental health program services; specifying
that the Secretary is not prohibited from contracting with
certain individual licensed mental health care providers;
requiring providing that the Secretary of Health and Mental
Hygiene to develop a plan to contract with certain private
community-based organizations and certain individual
licensed mental health care providers to provide certain
mental health services; requiring a certain report by a
certain date; and generally relating to certain community
mental health services.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Health - General

10-902.

(a) (1) In accordance with the State budget and the rules
and regulations that the Secretary adopts, the Secretary may make
grants from or agreements for the use of State and federal funds
to help public agencies or nonprofit organizations establish and
operate local mental health programs to provide the following:

(i) Inpatient services.

(ii) Outpatient services.

(iii) Partial care services, including day care
services and night care services.

(iv) 24-hour emergency services.
