AN ACT concerning

Vehicle Laws - Tail Lamp Requirements Lamps, Reflectors,
and Chains - Special Mobile Equipment

FOR the purpose of exempting special mobile equipment from
certain tail lamp requirements under certain circumstances;
requiring certain special mobile equipment to be equipped
with reflectors mounted in a certain manner; requiring
certain special mobile equipment to be equipped with certain
stop lamps and certain turn signals; requiring special
mobile equipment that is being towed to be coupled to the
towing vehicle in a certain manner; and generally relating
to tail lamps, reflectors, and other equipment requirements
for certain special mobile equipment.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

11-159.

(a) "Special mobile equipment" means, except as provided in
subsection (c) of this section, a vehicle that:

(1)  Is not used primarily for highway transportation
of people or property; and

(2)  Is operated or moved on a highway only as an
incident to its nonhighway use.
