(2) There [shall be no] MAY NOT BE ANY liability on the
part of[, and no] OR cause of action of any nature [shall arise]
against insurers, [the inspection bureau,] the [association]
ASSOCIATION, the [governing committee] GOVERNING COMMITTEE, their
agents or employees, or the Commissioner or his authorized
representatives for any failure to discover defects in the
property inspected or for any statements made in any reports and
communications concerning the insurability of the property, or in
the findings required by the provisions of this [section]
SUBTITLE, or the hearings conducted in connection therewith.

478-I.

This subtitle shall no longer be of any force after [the
expiration of the Urban Property Protection and Reinsurance Act
of 1968 or June 30, 1988, whichever shall last occur] JUNE 30,
1990; except that obligations incurred by the [association]
ASSOCIATION established pursuant to the provisions of this
subtitle shall not be impaired by the expiration of this subtitle
and such [association] ASSOCIATION shall be continued for the
purpose of performing such obligations.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.

AN ACT concerning

Tax Procedures - Seizures of Property

FOR the purpose of altering the immunity of the Comptroller and
peace officers of the State in connection with seizures of
contraband cigarettes or conveyances used in connection with
contraband cigarettes; extending the grant of immunity to
seizures of contraband alcoholic beverages, contraband motor
fuel, or conveyances used in their connection; clarifying
the scope and procedures for certain forfeiture proceedings
for lien holders of certain seized property; deleting a
requirement for certain notices in connection with seized
motor fuel or conveyances used in its transport to be made
by certified mail; permitting certain adjustments to
proceeds from sales of seized property; providing for
distribution of proceeds relative to certain alcoholic
