AN ACT concerning

Local Jails and Detention Centers - Insane Inmates

FOR the purpose of repealing certain obsolete provisions of law
relating to the removal of insane inmates from local jails
and detention centers; establishing certain procedures for
the determination of sanity of an inmate; defining certain
terms; establishing certain rights and burdens of an inmate
whose sanity is being determined; requiring the court that
determines the sanity of an inmate to take certain actions;
providing certain procedures for the redetermination of

sanity of an inmate; granting exclusive appellate

jurisdiction to the Court of Appeals over appellate

proceedings under this Act; and generally relating to the
determination and treatment of insane inmates in local jails
and local detention centers.
