Chapter 597 of the Acts of 1987

Section 1(3)(H)(4)

(a) Supplement the appropriation, "Design and
prepare preliminary and detailed plans and
specifications for alterations and addition
to Tawes Hall...", originally made by Chapter
82 on page 432 of the Acts of 1984, Section
1(5) of the Acts of 1984 being hereby
modified to the extent that work may begin
upon satisfactory assurances to the Board of
Public Works that the project can be
completed with the aggregate of the funds
herein and heretofore appropriated for this
purpose. THE AMOUNT OF FUNDS IN THIS
APPROPRIATION NOT ENCUMBERED FOR THE PURPOSES
IDENTIFIED ABOVE AS OF JUNE 1, 1988 SHALL BE
USED FOR THE PREPARATION OF DETAILED PLANS
AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A
NEW ACADEMIC BUILDING.............................

(a)  Headquarters:

(7) Acquire land and prepare detailed plans and
specifications for a medium-security
correctional institution provided that no
funds may be expended until the Department of
Public Safety and Correctional Services
completes a capital facilities plan and the
Budget Committees review that plan and
release the funds. THE AMOUNT OF FUNDS IN
THIS APPROPRIATION NOT ENCUMBERED FOR THE
PURPOSES IDENTIFIED ABOVE AS OF JUNE 1, 1988
SHALL BE USED TO PROVIDE A PORTION OF THE
FUNDS TO DESIGN, CONSTRUCT, AND EQUIP A
19 2-CELL MEDIUM SECURITY HOUSING UNIT AT
ROXBURY CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION (WASHINGTON
