CHAPTER 529

(House Bill 1481)

AN ACT concerning

Maryland Tort Claims Act Soil Conservation Districts - Supervisors

and Employees

FOR the purpose of expanding the definition of "State personnel"
under the Maryland Tort Claims Act to include members and
employees of a board of supervisors for a soil conservation
district granting certain tort immunity to members and
employees of a board of supervisors for a soil conservation
district; providing for a certain waiver; providing
liability limits and funds for the payment of a settlement
or judgment entered against a soil conservation district;
and generally relating to certain tort immunity for members
and employees of a board of supervisors for a soil
conservation district.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

8-303.1.

(A) A MEMBER OR EMPLOYEE OF A BOARD OF SUPERVISORS FOR A
SOIL CONSERVATION DISTRICT IS IMMUNE FROM SUIT IN COURTS OF THE
STATE AND FROM LIABILITY IN TORT FOR A TORTIOUS ACT OR OMISSION:
