AN ACT concerning
State Board of Nursing - Registered Nurses'
Rehabilitation Committee
FOR the purpose of establishing a Registered Nurses'
Rehabilitation Committee in the State Board of Nursing;
providing for the composition and terms of members of the
Committee; providing for the election of officers of the
Committee; providing for the compensation of members;
authorizing the Committee to employ a staff; establishing
the powers and duties of the Committee; requiring the
Committee to inform certain registered nurses of the rights
and responsibilities of nurses in the registered nurses'
rehabilitation program and the results of noncompliance with
the program; providing for the expulsion of nurses from the
program; requiring the Committee to purge and destroy
certain records under certain circumstances; requiring the
confidentiality of certain Board or Committee records;
requiring the Board to provide for the representation of
certain persons in a defamation action resulting from
certain reports or information; providing for a delayed
effective date; and generally relating to the establishment
of the Registered Nurses' Rehabilitation Committee in the
State Board of Nursing.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health Occupations
7-208.
(A) IN THIS SECTION, "PROGRAM" MEANS THE REGISTERED NURSES'
REHABILITATION PROGRAM.
(B) (1) THERE IS A REGISTERED NURSES' REHABILITATION
COMMITTEE IN THE BOARD.
(2) THE BOARD MAY CREATE 1 OR MORE REHABILITATION
COMMITTEES.
