CHAPTER 499

(House Bill 1257)

AN ACT concerning

Tri-County Council of Western Maryland -
Membership - Funding

FOR the purpose of expanding the voting membership of the
Tri-County Council of Western Maryland to include a certain
number of private citizens; altering the composition of the
voting and nonvoting members of the Council appointed from
the members of the General Assembly who reside in Allegany,
Garrett, or Washington Counties; providing for nonvoting
members of the Council; establishing a certain funding
mechanism for the Council; and generally relating to the
membership and funding of the Tri-County Council of Western
Maryland.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 20A - Tri-County Council of Western Maryland

Section 2-101 and 2-205(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1987 Replacement Volume and 1987 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

Maryland, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 20A - Tri-County Council of Western Maryland
2-101.

(a)  The Council shall adopt bylaws governing the procedures
and policies of the membership.

(b)  THE COUNCIL SHALL CONSIST OF 27 MEMBERS, 23 OF WHICH
SHALL BE VOTING MEMBERS AND 4 OF WHICH SHALL BE NONVOTING
MEMBERS.

(C) The voting membership of the Council shall consist of
the following [21] 23 members:

(1) From Allegany, Garrett, and Washington counties:
