AN ACT concerning
Wildlife - Replacement Values Restitution for Injuring,
Killing, or Destroying
FOR the purpose of requiring a person to forfeit to the State a
certain amount of money to replace any wildlife or protected
species of animal that the person injuries, kills, or
destroys under certain circumstances; specifying certain
replacement values for wildlife and protected species of
animals; requiring certain courts to order a person to pay
certain replacement values for wildlife or protected species
of animals under this Act; providing for the collection,
payment, and use of money forfeited under this Act; and
generally relating to the replacement values for certain
wildlife and protected species of animal that are injured,
killed, or destroyed under certain circumstances.
authorizing courts of this State to impose, in addition to
any other penalty for illegally injuring or killing
wildlife, a requirement for certain restitution to the State
based on certain wildlife values; requiring the Department
of Natural Resources to promulgate regulations establishing
certain wildlife values; requiring certain restitution to be
paid to the State and used for certain purposes; and
generally relating to requiring persons who illegally kill
or injure wildlife to make restitution to the State.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Natural Resources
10-1107.
(A) IF A PERSON IS CONVICTED OF VIOLATING ANY PROVISION OF
THIS TITLE AND THE VIOLATION CAUSES OR RESULTS IN THE INJURY,
DEATH, OR DESTRUCTION OF ANY WILDLIFE, INCLUDING A PROTECTED
SPECIES OF ANIMAL, IN ADDITION TO ANY OTHER PENALTY PROVIDED IN
THIS TITLE, THE COURT MAY ORDER THE PERSON SHALL FORFEIT TO PAY
RESTITUTION TO THE STATE THE COST LISTED IN FOR THE RESOURCE
VALUE OF THE WILDLIFE, AS DETERMINED BY THE COURT, TAKING INTO
