AN ACT concerning

Worcester County - Gaming Permits

FOR the purpose of authorizing the County Commissioners of
Worcester County to set the fee for certain gaming permits;
defining certain terms; making technical and stylistic
corrections; clarifying the manner in which certain
organizations, institutions, associations, societies, and
corporations qualify as a charity for certain purposes;
providing that a raffle is not a multiple gaming device;
deleting certain unnecessary language concerning multiple
gaming device permits at fund-raisers; limiting the length
of an event held under a multiple gaming device permit;
limiting the number of gaming events that may be held in one
facility in a certain time period; authorizing permits for
raffles and limiting the time a raffle may last; authorizing
the County Commissioners to regulate the number of raffle
permits; and generally relating to gaming permits in
Worcester County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(a) (1) (I) In this section, THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED. the term "multiple

(II) "MULTIPLE gaming device permit" means a
permit allowing 2 or more of the devices specified in paragraph
(2) of this subsection.

(III) "RAFFLE" MEANS A LOTTERY USING PAPER
CHANCES IN WHICH PRIZES ARE WON BY PERSONS WHO BUY CHANCES IN THE
LOTTERY.

(2) Notwithstanding any other provision of this
article, the County Commissioners of Worcester County may issue a
