Ch. 446

LAWS OF MARYLAND

(6)  EXPENDITURES UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL ONLY BE
MADE PURSUANT TO AN APPROPRIATION APPROVED BY THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY IN THE ANNUAL STATE BUDGET OR BY THE BUDGET AMENDMENT
PROCEDURE PROVIDED FOR IN § 7-209 OF THE STATE FINANCE AND
PROCUREMENT ARTICLE, PROVIDED THAT ANY BUDGET AMENDMENT SHALL BE
SUBMITTED TO AND APPROVED BY THE LEGISLATIVE POLICY COMMITTEE
PRIOR TO THE EXPENDITURE OR OBLIGATION OF FUNDS.

(7)  THE FUND SHALL BE SUBJECT TO AN AUDIT BY THE
DIVISION OF AUDITS AS PROVIDED FOR IN § 2-1215 OF THE STATE
GOVERNMENT ARTICLE.

(2) (8) THE PURPOSE OF THE FUND IS TO PROVIDE AN
ADDITIONAL SOURCE OF FUNDING FOR THE TRAINING NEEDS OF LAW
ENFORCEMENT AND CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS OF THE STATE AND OF LOCAL
JURISDICTIONS.
