Ch. 407                                          LAWS OF MARYLAND

(5) The payment of any funds under the provisions of this
Act for the purposes set forth in Section 1(3) above shall be
contingent upon the Commission establishing a perpetual care fund
to insure perpetual maintenance and care of the memorial under
the direct supervision of the Maryland Veterans Commissio
n.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1988.

(House Bill 441)

AN ACT concerning

Utility Companies - Asbestos Removal or Encapsulation -

Posting of Signs

FOR the purpose of exempting utility companies from certain sign
posting requirements for removal or encapsulation of
asbestos at electric generating stations or at other
utility-controlled facilities under certain circumstances;
repealing certain provisions exempting utility companies
from the requirement that signs be posted a certain number
of days before removing or encapsulating asbestos at a work
site or certain asbestos projects; and generally relating to
the exemption of utility companies from certain sign posting
requirements for removal or encapsulation of asbestos.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
