(House Bill 370)

AN ACT concerning

Retirement and Pension Systems - Mandatory Retirement -
Maryland Employees Retirement Review Board - Repeal

FOR the purpose of repealing provisions of law concerning
retirement of certain members of the State retirement and
pension systems at a certain age; repealing provisions of
law relating to the Maryland Employees Retirement Review
Board; and generally relating to the repeal of age
requirements for the retirement of members of the State
retirement and pension systems.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article 73B - Pensions

Section ll(l)(a), 86(l)(a), 117(l)(a), and 145(l)(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 73B - Pensions

11.

(1) (a) [(i)] Any member may retire upon written
application to the board of trustees setting forth at what time
he desires to be retired, provided that such member at the time
so specified for his retirement shall have attained the age of
sixty (60) or shall have rendered twenty-five (25) years of
creditable service as an employee.
