AN ACT concerning

Licensing - Fur Dealers and Taxidermists and Fur-Tanners

FOR the purpose of altering the license fees for a fur dealer's
license and a taxidermist and fur-tanner's license;
requiring the Department of Natural Resources to approve
certain work samples and to administer a certain examination
before issuing a license permitting the practice of
taxidermy or fur-tanning; requiring certain records be kept;
authorizing certain inspections by Natural Resources Police
and certain other law enforcement officers; providing for
revocation of a license under certain circumstances;
providing for the construction of this Act; and generally
relating to the licensing requirements for fur dealers and
taxidermists and fur-tanners.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Natural Resources

4-211.

(a)  Any person who desires to commercially practice the art
of taxidermy or who desires to mount or preserve any species of
finfish [legally acquired,] FOR A PERSON OTHER THAN HIMSELF
first, shall [apply for] OBTAIN a taxidermist and fur-tanning
license. A taxidermist and fur-tanning license also shall permit
the holder to mount, preserve, or tan any species of wildlife
legally acquired.

(b)  (1) A person desiring a taxidermist and fur-tanning
license annually shall:

FEE; AND

(I)  apply APPLY on forms the Secretary supplies

(II)  pay PAY a [$5] $50 ANNUAL license fee.
