SECTION 3 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That the

provisions of Section 2 of Chapter 362 of the Laws of Maryland of

1986 which provide for the automatic abrogation of that Act on
June 30, 1989, be and are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Section
(15A)(a)(2)(i) and (ii) of Article II of the Charter of Baltimore
City, as enacted by Chapter 362 of the Laws of Maryland of 1986,
shall remain effective until the end of June 30, 1989, and with
no further action required by the General Assembly, shall at that
time be abrogated and of no further force and effect. The
abrogation of these provisions, however, shall not affect any
suit or suits at law filed pursuant thereto on or before June 30,
1989.

SECTION 5 6. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1988.

AN ACT concerning

Creation of a State Debt - Baltimore Museum of Art

FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt in
the amount of $750,000, the proceeds to be used as a grant
to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore for the purpose
of constructing, expanding, improving, and equipping the
Baltimore Museum of Art, subject to the condition that a
requirement that the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore
provide at least an equal and matching fund of a certain
type and amount be provided kind for the same purpose by a
certain date; and providing generally for the issue and sale
of bonds evidencing the loan.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That:

(1) The Board of Public Works may borrow money and incur
indebtedness on behalf of the State of Maryland through a State
loan to be known as the Baltimore Museum of Art Loan of 1988 in
the total principal amount of $750,000. This loan shall be
evidenced by the issuance, sale, and delivery of State general
