AN ACT concerning

State Conservation Reserve Program

FOR the purpose of creating a State Conservation Reserve Program;
specifying the criteria for determining whether farmland is
eligible for enrollment in the Program; requiring a certain
application to be filed; requiring the Department of
Agriculture to adopt certain regulations to administer and
carry out this Act; requiring the Department to pay a
certain amount to certain owners of farmland who sign a
contract with the Department; authorizing the Department to
implement the Program in cooperation with federal agencies;
authorizing a certain annual expenditure for new enrollment
in the Program; providing for the termination of the
Program; and generally relating to the establishment of a
State Conservation Reserve Program.

Section 8-801, 8-802, and 8-803 through 8-806, inclusive, to

be under the new subtitle "Subtitle 8. State

Conservation Reserve Program."
