(a) A license expires [every 2 years] ON THE LAST DAY OF
THE BIRTH MONTH OF THE LICENSEE, unless the license is renewed
for a [2] 1-year term as provided in this section.
(c) Before a license expires, the licensee periodically may
renew it for an additional term, if the licensee:
(1) Otherwise is entitled to be licensed;
(2) Pays to the Board:
(i) A renewal fee [of $20 $12] SET BY THE
SECRETARY; or
(ii) A renewal fee of not more than $2 that is
set by the [Board] SECRETARY if the licensee certifies to the
Board that the licensee provides professional services only as a
volunteer; and
(3) Submits to the Board a renewal application on the
form that the Board requires.
8-206.
(a)(1) [Except for the fees specificially set by this
title, the Board] THE SECRETARY may set reasonable fees for the
issuance and renewal of licenses and [its] other services
PROVIDED BY THE BOARD.
(2) THE FEES CHARGED SHALL BE SET SO AS TO PRODUCE
FUNDS TO APPROXIMATE THE COST OF MAINTAINING THE BOARD.
(3) COST SHALL INCLUDE:
(I) DOCUMENTED DIRECT COST, REGARDLESS OF WHERE
BUDGETED; AND
(II) DOCUMENTED INDIRECT COST OF THE DEPARTMENT
AND THE STATE.
(4) THE SECRETARY MAY:
(I) REVIEW AND SET FEES ANNUALLY;
(II) STANDARDIZE FEES FOR SIMILAR SERVICES; AND
(III) SUBMIT PROPOSED FEES AS PART OF THE
BUDGETARY PROCESS.
