WILLIAM DONALD SCHAEFER, Governor Ch. 293

Chapter 13 of the Acts of 1987

SECTION 4. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That notwithstanding
the provisions of Article 81 § 312(d), adjustments to the
withholding tables required pursuant to that subsection shall not
take effect until taxable year 1988 [and in that year shall take
account only of the increases in the personal and dependent
exemption amounts as provided in this Act].

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is an
emergency measure, is necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health and safety, has been passed by a yea and nay
vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly, and shall take effect
from the date it is enacted.

State Universities and Colleges - Name Changes

FOR the purpose of changing the name of Bowie State College to be
Bowie State University; and providing for a certain
contingency.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

There is a Board of Trustees of State Universities and
Colleges which exercises direction and control of:

(1) Bowie State [College] UNIVERSITY;
