take effect July 1, 1988.

AN ACT concerning

Insurance - Alcoholic Rehabilitation Benefits

FOR the purpose of increasing modifying the mandated minimum
benefit under certain group health insurance contracts for
outpatient visits to certified alcoholism treatment
facilities during any calendar year or benefit period;
requiring group health contracts issued on an expense
incurred basis to provide certain coverage for the treatment
of drug abuse; repealing the requirement that nonprofit
health service plans offer coverage for the treatment of
drug abuse; modifying the type of facility that qualifies
for coverage under this Act; providing for the applicability
of this Act; defining a term; and generally relating to
health insurance coverage for alcoholism, alcohol abuse, and
drug abuses.
