AN ACT concerning

Caroline County - Election Board - Compensation

FOR the purpose of providing that members of the Caroline County
Board of Supervisors of Elections may not receive additional
salary or compensation for performing certain election
duties except under certain circumstances; and generally
relating to the amount of compensation available to the
members of the Caroline County Board of Supervisors of
Elections.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 33 - Election Code

2-3.

(a) Each member of the boards of the several political
subdivisions of the State shall receive an annual salary of not
less than the following amounts:

(6) Caroline County:

(I)  President $2,000[; associate].

(II)  ASSOCIATE members $1,800 each[; and
reimbursement for expenses as approved and provided by the County
Commissioners].

(III)  MEMBERS MAY NOT RECEIVE ADDITIONAL SALARY
OR COMPENSATION FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO ELECTION ACTIVITIES OR
MATTERS OCCURRING WITHIN THE COUNTY.

(IV)  IF THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE AND
PROVIDE THE NECESSARY FUNDS, MEMBERS MAY BE COMPENSATED FOR
ACTUAL EXPENSES INCURRED IN THE PERFORMANCE OF OFFICIAL DUTIES
OCCURRING OUTSIDE THE COUNTY.
