3. MAINTAINS A 3.0 GRADE AVERAGE ON A 4.0
SCALE OR ITS EQUIVALENT; AND
4. MAKES SATISFACTORY PROGRESS TOWARD THE
NURSING DEGREE OR DIPLOMA ACCORDING TO THE STANDARDS OF THE
ELIGIBLE INSTITUTION ATTENDED.
(E) (F) EACH RECIPIENT OF THE NURSING SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED
UNDER THIS SECTION SHALL:
(1) BE A RESIDENT OF THIS STATE;
(2) BE ENROLLED IN A PROGRAM OF STUDY IN A NURSING
SHORTAGE AREA AT AN ELIGIBLE INSTITUTION;
(2) BE A NURSING STUDENT;
(3) FURNISH A SURETY BOND TO THE STATE WITH SECURITY
SATISFACTORY TO THE STATE THAT UPON COMPLETION OF NURSING STUDIES
THE RECIPIENT SHALL, FOR A PERIOD OF TIME TO BE DETERMINED BY THE
STATE SCHOLARSHIP ADMINISTRATION TEACH OR COMMISSION SERVE IN
THIS STATE IN THE PARTICULAR NURSING SHORTAGE AREA IN WHICH THE
RECIPIENT WAS AWARDED A SCHOLARSHIP UNDER THIS SECTION IN AN
ELIGIBLE ORGANIZATION IN WHICH THIS OBLIGATION SHALL BE
SATISFIED;
(4) HAVE A GRADE AVERAGE OF AT LEAST 3.0 ON A 4.0
SCALE OR ITS EQUIVALENT; AND
(5) BE SELECTED BY THE STATE SCHOLARSHIP
ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION ON A COMPETITIVE BASIS FROM AMONG THE
QUALIFIED APPLICANTS BASED ON ACADEMIC CRITERIA ESTABLISHED BY
THE STATE SCHOLARSHIP ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION.
(f) A grant may not be awarded to a medical education
center that has discontinued its program in physician assistant
or nurse practitioner training.
[(g) The State Scholarship Board shall administer this
Program.]
(G) THE STATE SCHOLARSHIP ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION SHALL
ESTABLISH AND PUBLISH RULES AND REGULATIONS TO ADMINISTER THESE
PROGRAMS.

(a) (1) In this section the following words have the
meanings indicated.
(2) "Institution" means an institution of
postsecondary education approved to operate by the State Board of
Higher Education and which awards graduate nursing degrees.
