(2) Each medical scholarship:

(i) Is in the amount of $7,500 a year;

(ii) May be used for tuition, fees, and other
costs at the School of Medicine;

(iii) Shall be paid by the State Scholarship
[Board] ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION directly to the
School of Medicine; and

(iv) May be held as long as the recipient is
making satisfactory progress towards the degree of doctor of
medicine, but not longer than 4 years.

(e)  (1) Each year, the State Scholarship [Board]

ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION shall announce the
availability and conditions of these medical scholarships at
colleges and universities both in and outside of this State.

(2)  Each applicant shall submit an application
provided by the State Scholarship [Board] ADMINISTRATION
COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION which demonstrates his merit and
eligibility.

(3)  The State Scholarship [Board] ADMINISTRATION
COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION shall award the scholarships to the
recipients. If a recipient does not accept the scholarship, the
Board shall reaward it.

(f)  The bond of each recipient of a medical scholarship
under this section shall be in an amount equal to the amount of
the medical scholarship plus a reasonable rate of interest and
other security satisfactory to the State Scholarship [Board]
ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION.

(a) (1) In this section, the following words have the
meanings indicated.

(2)  "Medical education center" means an institution:

(i) Whose objectives include the education of
medical and allied health personnel; and

(ii) That has residency programs or full
departments in at least three primary care areas.

(3)  "Nurse practitioner" means a nurse practitioner
as defined by the rules and regulations of the State Board of
Nursing.
