Ch. 246

(2) Was a resident of this State at the time he was
declared to be a prisoner of war or declared to be missing in
action.

(c)  Each scholarship awarded under this section entitles
the recipient to attend an eligible institution without charge
for tuition and mandatory fees.

(d)  A scholarship awarded under this section may be used
at:

(1)  The University of Maryland SYSTEM;

(2)  Morgan State University;

[(3) Any institution under the jurisdiction of the
Board of Trustees of the State Universities and Colleges;]

[(4)] (3) St. Mary's College of Maryland; or

[(5)] (4) Any community college in this State.

(e)  Each recipient of a scholarship under this section may
hold the scholarship for 4 years of full-time undergraduate study
or 8 years of part-time undergraduate study if he continues to be
a student and takes:

(1)  At least 12 semester hours of courses each
semester leading to a degree if he is a full-time student; or

(2)  At least 6 semester hours of courses each
semester leading to a degree if he is a part-time student.

18-605.

(a)  There is a program of tuition assistance under this
section.

(b)  Any career or volunteer fire fighter, ambulance or
rescue squad member shall receive full and complete reimbursement
by the State Scholarship [Board] ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION
ADMINISTRATION for tuition costs not to exceed the resident
tuition rates at the University of Maryland at College Park for
courses credited toward a degree in fire service technology or
emergency medical technology.

(c)  (1) The tuition reimbursement application shall be

filed with the State Scholarship [Board] ADMINISTRATION

COMMISSION ADMINISTRATION no later than July 1 immediately
following the academic year for which tuition reimbursement is
sought.
