(2) An applicant is exempt from the examination if
the applicant:

(i) Is attending an eligible institution and
has completed at least 1 year in good academic standing at the
institution; or

(ii) Graduated from high school at least 5
years before applying for a general State scholarship; OR

(III) IS PLANNING TO ATTEND OR IS ATTENDING A
MARYLAND COMMUNITY COLLEGE.]

18-303.

(a)  The State Scholarship [Board] ADMINISTRATION COMMISSION
ADMINISTRATION shall determine the amount of each general State
scholarship based on the financial need of the applicant.

(b)  (1) A general State scholarship may be awarded in $100
increments. However, the award for a single year may not be less
than $200 or more than $2,500.

(2) A recipient may not be awarded more than $10,000
for undergraduate study.

18-304.

(a)  A general State scholarship may be used:

(1)  At a degree granting institution of higher
education, an eligible institution with a terminal certificate
program that provides transfer credit for an accredited
baccalaureate program, or a hospital diploma school for training
registered nurses if the curriculum is approved by the [State
Board for Higher Education] COMMISSION; and

(2)  For educational expenses as defined by the [State
Scholarship Board] COMMISSION, including:

(i) Tuition and fees; and

(ii) Room and board.

(b)  A general State scholarship may be used at a school in
another state if:

(1)  There is a reciprocal agreement as provided in
Section 18-308 18-307 of this subtitle; and

(2)  The school meets requirements of subsection
(a)(1) of this section.
