AN ACT concerning

State Employees - Whistleblower Law

FOR the purpose of revising the State's Whistleblower Law;
clarifying that both classified and unclassified State
employees are covered by the law; altering the period of
time in which the Department of Personnel must file an
investigative report; altering the grounds under which an
employee may make a protected disclosure; authorizing the
Department of Personnel to take certain disciplinary action;
requiring the Department of Personnel to provide certain
notice to employees; and generally relating to the
protection of State employees who make certain disclosures.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

(A) IN THIS SUBTITLE, "EMPLOYEE" MEANS A CLASSIFIED OR
UNCLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE STATE.
