AN ACT concerning

Garrett County - Flag and Seal

FOR the purpose of establishing for Garrett County an official
seal and flag; describing the county seal and flag;
prohibiting certain actions concerning the flag and seal;
prohibiting the use of the seal and flag on certain items;
setting penalties; defining a certain term; superseding any
previous flag and seal; and generally relating to the
official seal and flag of Garrett County.

BY adding to

The Public Local Laws of Garrett County

Section 21-1, 21-2, and 21-3 and 21-2 to be under a new

chapter, "Chapter 21 County Flag and Seal"
Article 12 - Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1985 Edition, as amended)

Preamble

WHEREAS, A flag for Garrett County has been designated and
recognized as a county flag of Garrett County by the Board of
County Commissioners of Garrett County by resolution dated July
1, 1974; and

WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners for Garrett
County has recognized the design of the county's official seal
of the Board of County Commissioners of Garrett County by
resolution dated December 15, 1977; and

WHEREAS, It is desirable to preserve in the local laws of
Garrett County a description of this valuable design to protect
and preserve for future generations the rich heritage and
traditions of this county; now, therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

CHAPTER 21 COUNTY FLAG AND SEAL

(A) THERE IS AN OFFICIAL SEAL FOR GARRETT COUNTY.
