Ch. 165                                          LAWS OF MARYLAND

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.

CHAPTER 165

(House Bill 129)

AN ACT concerning

County Boards of Education - Volunteers - Immunity

FOR the purpose of altering the definition of county board of
education employee to include certain volunteers in order to
provide immunity from personal liability in certain tort
actions; and generally relating to immunity from civil

liability for certain employees of county boards of

education.

FOR the purpose of granting certain limited immunity from civil
liability to certain volunteers providing services or
performing duties for a county board of education; creating
exceptions for individual liability of certain volunteers
under certain circumstances; defining certain terms;
providing for the application and construction of this Act;
and generally relating to civil liability of certain
volunteers working for a county board of education.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Section 4-105.1

Annotated Code of Maryland

{1985 Replacement Volume and 1987 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

4-105.1.

(a) In this section "county board employee" means:

(A) (1) IN THIS SECTION THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.
