Ch. 122

LAWS OF MARYLAND

(i) "Reportable event" means an event specified or provided
for in § 747.

(j) "Secretary" means the Secretary of Public Safety and
Correctional Services.

744.

(a) There is a Criminal Justice Information Advisory Board
which, for administrative and budgetary purposes only, is within
the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.
Subject to the provisions of subsection (b) OF THIS SECTION, the
members shall be appointed for a term of three years. One member
shall be designated by the Governor as chairman. Each member,
other than the member from the general public, may designate a
person to represent him [at any board meeting, but the designee
may not vote] IN ANY BOARD ACTIVITY OR MEETING. A DESIGNEE MAY
VOTE. A MAJORITY OF MEMBERS OR DESIGNEES CONSTITUTES A QUORUM
FOR THE TRANSACTION OF BUSINESS. The Advisory Board consists of
the following members:

(1)  One member of the Maryland Senate appointed by
the President of the Senate;

(2)  One member of the House of Delegates appointed by
the Speaker of the House of Delegates;

(3)  The executive director of the Governor's
[Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice]
OFFICE OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE;

(4)  Three persons from the judicial branch of State
government appointed by the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals;

(5)   [The Secretary of Public Safety and Correctional]
THREE PERSONS CHOSEN RECOMMENDED BY THE SECRETARY OF PUBLIC
SAFETY AND CORRECTIONAL Services;

(6)  Two executive officials from State, county, or
municipal police agencies;

(7)   [One executive official from a correctional
services agency] THE DIRECTOR OF THE MARYLAND JUSTICE ANALYSIS
CENTER OF THE INSTITUTE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND CRIMINOLOGY OF
THE UNIVERSITY OF MARYLAND;

(8)  Two elected county officials;

(9)  The Attorney General of Maryland;

(10)   [ One elected municipal official] ONE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE COORDINATOR OF A COUNTY OR BALTIMORE CITY;
