(House Bill 1430)

AN ACT concerning

Somerset County Board of Education - Compensation and Expenses

FOR the purpose of providing to members of the Somerset County
Board of Education a certain amount for expenses incurred in
official duties performed within the County; and generally
relating to expenses incurred by members of the Somerset
County Board of Education.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - Education

3-903.

(a)  (1) Annual compensation for the Board is as follows:

(i) Chairman - $2,000
(ii) Member - $1,800

(2) The County Commissioners may provide additional
compensation in the County budget.

(b)  The Chairman and other members are entitled to
[reimbursement]:

(1) REIMBURSEMENT for expenses incurred in official
duties performed outside Somerset County; AND

(2) $500 PER MEMBER PER YEAR FOR EXPENSES INCURRED IN
OFFICIAL DUTIES PERFORMED WITHIN SOMERSET COUNTY.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1988.
