(5) LATE PAYMENT PENALTY - $20.
[8-107.] 8-108.

(a)  An active license expires on December 31 of each year
and is renewable every year upon payment of the fee and delivery
of the [bond] CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, unless the Board has
revoked the license.

(b)  An individual who holds a valid electrical license may
go on inactive status, during which time the licensee may not
engage in electrical contracting in Washington County. An
inactive license expires on December 31 of each year and is
renewable every year upon payment of the inactive license fee.
[A bond] INSURANCE is not required while the license is inactive.

(c)  A licensee may reactivate a license upon a written
request to the Board and payment of the reactivating fee and
delivery of [an approved $1,000 bond] A CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE
AS REQUIRED BY SECTION 8-107 OF THIS TITLE.

[8-108.] 8-109.

The Board may revoke for proper cause any license or license
renewal after a full hearing of all parties in interest.

[8-109.

(a)  Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, a
license and license renewal shall be in force and effect only so
long as an approved bond filed with the Board in accordance with
the provisions of this subtitle remains in full force and effect.
Every such license or license renewal shall become utterly void
and of no effect should any such bond for any reason whatever
become inoperative or ineffective, regardless of the regular date
of expiration of the certificate or renewal.

(b)  An individual holding an active Maryland State Master
Electrical license who lives in Washington County or has a
principal place of business in this county shall maintain an
active Washington County Master Electrical License. If a licensee
maintains an active State license and files with the Board a
certificate of insurance acceptable to the Board, the Board may
issue a bond without requiring a bond. The certificate of
insurance shall contain a provision that the insuror may not
cancel the policy until the insuror has given at least 30 days
prior written notice to the Board. If the insurance policy is
canceled, the license shall become void and of no effect.]

This subtitle may not be construed to prevent any individual
from doing or performing any of the kinds of work enumerated in
