Paragraph (2)(ii) of this subsection is new language
added to state expressly that which was only implied
in the former - law, which excluded political
subdivisions from the definition of "public body" --
and, thus, from the substantive provisions of this
subtitle — unless the subdivision elected to be
covered or, for school construction, the State
contributed 75% or more of the funding.

In paragraph (l)(i) of this subsection, the former
reference to "streets" is deleted as surplusage.

In paragraph (2)(i) of this subsection, the reference
to a "public service company" is substituted for the
former reference to a "public utility company", to
conform to the language of Art. 78, § 2(o) of the
Code.

Defined term: "Construction" § 17-201

(K) PUBLIC WORK CONTRACT.

"PUBLIC WORK CONTRACT" MEANS A CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF
A PUBLIC WORK.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to
avoid repetition of the phrase "contract for
construction of a public work".

(L) WORKER.

"WORKER" MEANS A LABORER OR MECHANIC.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from former SF § 12-301(f).

The word "worker" is substituted, as the defined term,
for the former word "[w]orkman" since it is gender
neutral.

The former reference to "[w]orkman" meaning a
"workman" is deleted as surplusage.
