Ch. 48
LAWS OF MARYLAND
(2) "MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISE" INCLUDES A NOT FOR
PROFIT ENTITY ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE THE INTERESTS OF PHYSICALLY OR
MENTALLY DISABLED INDIVIDUALS.
REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from former SF §
ll-148(a)(3) and (4).
This subsection is revised to incorporate the
definition of "[m]inority individual", which the
former law set out as a separate defined term, since
the term "minority individuals" appeared in the former
law only in the definition of "minority business
enterprise". Therefore, a separate definition of
"minority individual" was unnecessary.
In paragraph (l)(ii)4. of this subsection, the former
words "not of Hispanic origin" are deleted as
unnecessary in light of item (ii)5.
In paragraph (2) of this subsection, the reference to
a "not for profit" entity is substituted for the
former reference to a "nonprofit" entity, for clarity.
