(4) Undertake other activities intended to foster and
develop gainful employment and the quality of life of all who are
residents of Washington County.

9-102.

(a) (1) The Commission [consist] CONSISTS of [at least 14
but] not more than [15] 25 members[, who shall be appointed by
the County Commissioners].

(2) OF THE MEMBERS:

(I)  THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF HAGERSTOWN
MAY APPOINT NOT MORE THAN 10 MEMBERS; AND

(II)  THE WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY
APPOINT NOT MORE THAN 15 MEMBERS.

[(2)] (3) (I) The members shall represent a
cross-section of the economic composition of Washington County
and shall be selected because of their known [experience and]
interest AND EXPERTISE in [the] ECONOMIC development [of
Washington County].

(II) IT IS ADVISABLE TO SELECT MEMBERS THAT
REPRESENT COMMERCE, INDUSTRY, HEALTH SERVICES, AGRICULTURE,
BANKING, CONSTRUCTION, LABOR, REAL ESTATE, RETAILING,
TRANSPORTATION, UTILITIES, SERVICE INDUSTRIES, AND THE
PROFESSIONS.

[(b) (1) There shall be on the Commission one member chosen
from each of the following categories: Agriculture, Banking,
Construction, Health, Labor, Manufacturing, Real Estate,
Retailing, Transportation, Tourism, Utilities, Wholesale and two
from the public at large.

(2) (I) The Commission may establish additional
categoric interests for representation on the Commission.

(II) Members may be nominated to the Commission
in the additional categories in the manner established for
designated categories.]

[(c)] (B) (1) The Commission shall establish a nominating
Committee to fill vacancies on the Commission.

(2)  The nominating Committee shall forward to the
Commission the names of at least 2 nominees to fill a vacancy
[to] ON the Commission.

(3)  THE COMMISSION MAY APPROVE OR DISAPPROVE THE
RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE.
