Ch. 11                                          LAWS OF MARYLAND

WHEREAS, The Department does not at present have an advisory
board or commission on sports; and

WHEREAS, The work of the existing Special Advisory
Commission is near completion, and the Commission is not
structured so as to be able to provide assistance and advice to
the Department; and

WHEREAS, The Department would benefit from having the
services and assistance of an advisory commission; now,
therefore,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Departments]

[Title 10. Independent and Miscellaneous Agencies]

Article 41A - Department of Economic and Employment Development

Title 4. - Division of Tourism and Promotion

Subtitle [7.] 4. [Special] Advisory Commission
on [Professional] Sports [and the Economy]

[10-701.] 4-401.

In this subtitle, "Commission" means the [Special] Advisory
Commission on [Professional] Sports [and the Economy].

[10-702.] 4-402.

There is [a Special] AN Advisory Commission on
[Professional] Sports [and the Economy] WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT.

[10-703.] 4-403.

(a) (1) The Commission consists of [13] 17 members
appointed by the Governor IN CONSULTATION WITH THE SECRETARY AND
WITH THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE SENATE.

(2) Of the [13] 17 Commission members:

(i) [3] 6 shall be representatives OF AMATEUR
AND of professional sports in the State;

(ii) 3 shall be representatives of State and
local government;

(iii) [3] 4 shall be representatives of the
general public;
