LAWS OF MARYLAND

"Person" §§ 1-101 and 5-101

(H) NONRESIDENT DEALER.

"NONRESIDENT DEALER" MEANS A PERSON WHO IS REQUIRED TO
OBTAIN A NONRESIDENT DEALER'S PERMIT UNDER ARTICLE 2B, § 4(H) OF
THE CODE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added to
avoid repetition of the clause "who is required to
obtain a nonresident dealer's permit under Article 2B,
§ 4(h) of the Code".

Defined term: "Person" §§ 1-101 and 5-101

(I) PERSON.

"PERSON" INCLUDES:

(1)  THIS STATE OR A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION, UNIT, OR
INSTRUMENTALITY OF THIS STATE;

(2)  ANOTHER STATE OR A POLITICAL SUBDIVISION, UNIT,
OR INSTRUMENTALITY OF THAT STATE; AND

(3)  A UNIT OR INSTRUMENTALITY OF A POLITICAL
SUBDIVISION OF THIS STATE OR OF ANOTHER STATE.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language that
repeats the provisions of present Art. 2B, § 2(f) that
relate to a governmental unit or instrumentality.

The references, in present Art. 2B, § 2(f), to "a
natural person", "an association", "a partnership",
and "a corporation" are omitted as included in the
definition of "person" in § 1-101 of this article.

Defined terms: "Person" § 1-101
"State" § 1-101

(J) RETAIL DEALER.

(1)  "RETAIL DEALER" MEANS A PERSON WHO BUYS AN
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE FOR SALE TO A CONSUMER.

(2)  "RETAIL DEALER" INCLUDES A COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF
LIQUOR CONTROL OR LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD THAT OPERATES A
DISPENSARY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language that
repeats the provisions of present Art. 2B, § 2(i).

In paragraph (1) of this subsection, the defined term
"consumer" is substituted for the present words
"person other than a license holder", for clarity.
