Mayor and City Council have the same power with respect to the
salaries of the office of the Sheriff as they have under the city
charter with respect to the salaries of all municipal
departments. Employees of the Sheriff's office, except the
Sheriff, shall be selected according to the provisions of § 9E of
Article 64A of the Code.

SECTION 2. AND. BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1987.

Purchases from Minority Businesses - Termination Date

related statutory provisions.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article - State Finance and Procurement

10-601.

(a) (1) In this subtitle the following words have the
meanings indicated.

(2) "Department" means the University of Maryland
the Departments of General Services and Transportation, the
Maryland Food Authority, the Maryland Stadium Authority, or the
Interagency Committee on Public School Construction, or, for
procurements specified under Title 3, Subtitle 4 of the State.
